Ecoute is a brand new application for playing your iTunes library without having iTunes open. Its a super lightweight music player that can do everything from music, movies & tv shows. Not only that, but it has an iTunes controller (think Bowtie) built in.
Since Rexcon is my favorite Bowtie skin (no bias, I assure you
), I felt I had to port it over to Ecoute, since I’ve been using it so often. For now this is just the SW version, but it includes ratings, controls, and a progress bar.
Many thanks to Louka Desroziers from the Ecoute team for all the help getting this working with Ecoute’s theming code. Hopefully porting over some more stuff will be much easier now that the groundwork is done.

Is there any chance of developing this for windows? It’s annoying enough that we don’t get bowtie.

Probably something you’d have to ask the developer of the app! :p http://www.ecouteapp.com

I wasn’t joking! Haha, I have no control over the app going to windows.

Is there a certain font I need to have installed? The band and album info look very blotchy and blury when they go beyond the controllers default size: http://bit.ly/zCYWw. I love this controller the best, but that is kind of annoying. Thanks.

You probably have to adjust your font smoothing in System Preferences. If you set it to Font sizes 4 and smaller, it should display fine.

Great skin! I’m currently using it.
Only one (small) request which I think is feasible. Could you make it so that the progress bar is clickable so you can skip to certain positions in the track?
I found a method in http://www.ecouteapp.com/ecoute/help/ which might do the trick?

(void) Ecoute.setPlayerPosition(integer aNumber)
This methods sets the player position to the number of second since the beginning of the song. Can be used to make a clickable progress indicator in your theme.

Keep me posted, thanks!

Love this skin, it’s the only one I use. Would it be possible to fix the ampesand problem though? http://grab.by/Xe1
Thanks!
